About us

History

Brief Introduction

What is now the Kerry School of Music was founded in 1980 by Tralee man Aidan O'Carroll to address a lack of opportunity for access to music and performing arts training in the locality. Our office and central music hub at High Street Tralee became our home in 1997. We have expanded over the past 44 years to include centres in Listowel, Killarney and Dingle.

Our Mission

Statement

To provide the most affordable, high-quality tuition and training in performing arts from beginner to pre-professional levels to persons of all ages in Kerry.

Quality and Standards

A cut above the rest

Our record speaks for itself. Our students out-perform all others in examinations and competitions. Our Alumni are to be found in opera houses, orchestras, theatres and media throughout the world. We have highly trained and skilled teachers who are not only excellent at their individual instruments and skills but are also dedicated to the role of tutor.

Experience and Excellence

Our school has grown to become one of Ireland's largest music schools and is currently the country's only fully integrated performing arts school with departments of Music, Dance and Music Theatre.
